CLEAN EATING

Eating clean is a great way to refresh your eating habits—it’s about eating more of the best and healthiest options in each of the food groups, and eating less of the not-so-healthy ones. What does that mean? Start embracing whole, unprocessed foods like vegetables, fruits, healthy proteins, and healthy fats while cutting back on refined grains, added sugars, salt and unhealthy fats.

"Clean eating tips"

  1. Eliminate Processed Foods

  2. Increase Veggie Intake

  3. Cut out Polyunsaturated Fats (vegetable oils derived mostly from soy, as well as from corn, safflower and canola)

  4. Increase Healthy Fats (olive oil, coconut oil, ghee, grass-fed butter, avocados)

  5. Reduce Alcohol Intake

  6. Un-sweeten Your Diet (processed sugars can cause inflammation)

  7. Watch the Salt, mostly in processed foods (know the difference - https://authoritynutrition.com/different-types-of-salt/)

  8. Greatly Reduce Grains - Avoid Refined Grains (processed - dietary fiber, iron, and many Vitamin B's have been removed), Choose Whole Grains

  9. Properly Prepare Grains & Legumes (soak/ferment)

  10. Eat Organic or Grass Fed Meats (toxins are stored in meat, especially in the animal’s fat)

  11. Eat Organic and Fermented Soy (if at all) (Soy makes it difficult to digest proteins and is high in phytic acid. Phytic acid tends to bind minerals and remove them from the body, which may lead to mineral deficiencies.)

  12. Stick to Whole, Unprocessed Fruits (keep the fiber!)

  13. Organic Dairy at the least!  Raw if possible and if you're not comfortable consuming raw milks or don't have access - raw cheese is especially easy to find. (dairy is a major cause of inflammation — sheep/goat less so).
